Logo Cully Jazz - FRANCOIS DULEX

A festival must be a part of its time and the old logo was no longer suitable. It had served its time and had promoted an image and values of which we are proud of and which we are still trying to communicate today.
We wanted to mark the occasion, 25 years of history, of heritage, of music, of jazz!
The festival’s 25th anniversary was the perfect moment for such a transition. 25 years is a bit like the beginning of a new life!  But the 25th was also a time when new blood was joining the comity, and kind of rebirth for the festival.
The development of the new logo did not follow a classic route, no competition, no pitch, no choice to make. On the contrary, there was a meeting, which was followed by an intense reflection and a beautiful collaboration with a fascinating and passionate man. François Dulex created a massive, imposing logo that is easily recognizable; it will stick in the festival-goers’ minds from one year to the next.
Resolutely modern, it was nevertheless imagined on the basis of a font designed by Paul Renner in 1927. FUTURA deriving from simple geometric shapes has since become the basis of the classic name brands such as Swissair.
Elaborated to become a real symbol of the Cully Jazz Festival, the new logo has naturally imposed itself in every aspect of our communication. More than just a logo, François Dulex developed a graphic systematic that we are trying to keep up and develop year after year.
